Brain Bulletin 124 - A Daily Spoonful Cuts Your Risk by 28%
Olive oil is a powerhouse component of the Mediterranean diet, which is associated with good health and a long life. Numerous studies show olive oil can boost brain power, slow brain-aging, improve synaptic activity, memory, and lower inflammation.

Indeed.
With current advances in medicine and health care many people are outliving their brains.
I, for one, want my health span to match my life span.
Some good news: A new study1 from Harvard found that including olive oil in your daily diet reduces your risk of dying from dementia by 28% compared with those who rarely consumed olive oil.
The first of its kind study found that people who consumed as little as half a table spoon of olive oil every day got this benefit. This link remained even when the researchers accounted for a better diet variable. This suggest that olive oil has unique brain benefits.
Olive oil is packed with flavour and nutrients. Also consider olive oil:
- - lowers cholesterol.
- - is an excellent source of Vit K and E.
- - reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer.
- - is a good source of monounsaturated fats.
- - has a high capacity of antioxidants.
One thing you can do right now: Drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil on your favourite vegetable, season if you like, and enjoy. Your brain will thank you.
Other ways to use olive oil?
Sauteing or roasting veggies, salad dressing, dips, marinades, scrambled eggs, baking, vinaigrettes, pasta, etc.
{Not all olive oil is equal, so choose wisely.}
Remember, our brains care what we eat!
